学生的痛 Student Pain

One of the yoga student (Catherine) sharing her practise experience:
以下是一位学员(Catherine)练习瑜伽三年的体验与分享:

   A form of exercise that works on your physical and mental as told by a friend of mine who have been a yogi of more than 6 years and currently a freelance instructor in various yoga centre.
At that time, yoga was considered a trend of lifestyle especially with the boom of the well-known yoga centre known as Yoga Zone.
 十年前椎间盘移位的问题造成我下背经常疼痛,不但需要常常推拿按摩也影响我的月事。在我苦寻良医之际,我一位当瑜伽导师的朋友告诉我瑜伽是一项身心灵运动而我这位朋友学习瑜伽六年有多,他觉得瑜伽能对我有莫大助益所以鼓励我学习。


  I was suffering from spinal disc dislocation or better known as slipped-disc since 10 years ago which had affected my monthly menstruation cycle and lower back pain thus makes me a regular visitor to the massage centre. Then, I decided to try yoga as I have no interest in sports or doing workout at the gym.
 三年前瑜伽馆林立加上当时某间瑜伽中心(Yoga Zone)大力推动下,瑜伽几乎成了一种潮流运动无人不晓,我也在当时加入这股热潮。事实上我以前对运动一点兴趣都没有。

The first lesson does not turn out as easy as I thought as I realize that yoga is not only about stretching your body but working on your breathing which helps in building your stamina and perspiration of your body as my people does not breathe properly later cause many sickness into their body.
上第一堂课时我才了解到原来瑜伽不纯粹是伸张运动,它还着重于呼吸法以帮助我们强化心肺,呼吸系统和体能。

For a beginner, I was advised to start of with the Hatha Yoga class where I learned about the basic yoga breathing technique as there were many different types of breathing for different level use in different types of yoga lessons and the art of sun salutation. Thus, this needs your full attention in the class or else you are unable to follow the steps.
瑜伽类别繁多,初学阶段我选择练习哈达(hatha)瑜伽,我学习基本的呼吸技巧和拜日式的一连串动作,我发觉练习瑜伽必须要全神贯注不然会跟不上老师的步伐。

 My T-shirt was soaked with my sweats as my instructor said it is good to perspire. After the class, I felt exhausted and weak which my instructor said is normal for someone who have not been exercise for sometime and the best thing was I slept like a baby through the night. The next morning, I could felt soreness on my thigh and arms muscles and my friend said this is normal as I have not been exercise for so long and told me not to give up as our body needs time to adapt to the situation besides the pain will disappear as we prolong.
课程结束后我总是汗流浃背但这样也好瑜伽让我一觉到天明。
唯一的坏处是隔天一早浑身酸痛但导师说这是再平常不过毕竟我长期缺乏运动。
瑜伽导师不断鼓励我别放弃,只要持之以恒的学习,身体习惯了这种伸展与锻炼必定能改善我长期以来的毛病。

Similar to many beginners, I went only for once a week then upgraded to twice a week and I felt my body became more flexible and my lower back pain have lessen after 2 to 3 months of practice.
 我的上课次数由一星期一次增加到两次,这同时我身体的柔软度也增强不少而且下背酸痛的情形在两三个月后得以改善。

Then, I determine to go for 3 to 4 times a week after I noticed my arms and thighs has toned up, my complexion has improved and most importantly my menstruation cycle became more accurate.
由于效果显著,我再次增加上课次数至每个星期三到四次。这段期间我的肌肉结实不少,脸色改善,最让我头痛的月事也正常化。

Besides myself, I also noticed the changes in some of my classmates enjoyed benefits of yoga in becoming more flexible some even managed to achieve to their ideal weight. There were times when my work required me to travel and I have to stop my classes for weeks sometimes months then I felt I became stress and worn out. After that, I quickly went back to my classes and I felt recharged.
我的瑜伽学友们非常享受练习瑜伽所带来的无穷乐趣与益处,这包括增强身体的灵巧度与柔软度而且这也是保持身材的好方法。由于工作性质的关系有时得出国公干而停学,停学的期间总是容易感到劳累浑身不自在和倍受压力难以放松,因此回国以后我迫不及待从新投入瑜伽世界以便恢复活力与能量。

After nearly 3 years of practice and ventured into different types of yoga such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Astanga, Power, Yin and Anusara, I felt that yoga is not only working on the physical part but it is also about gaining the positive energy from the universe which makes me looking forward for more about benefits of yoga as I am currently reading some yoga books to further my knowledge about meditation, the benefits of yoga postures and etc. Although I know I still need to work on my flexibility but I think a positive mind will eventually leads us to a happy life.
我练习瑜伽三年的岁月里,接触了不同派系的瑜伽这当中包括哈达瑜伽(hatha yoga),流动瑜伽(vinyasa/flow yoga), Astanga, Power yoga, 阴瑜伽(Yin yoga)和Anusara.我认为瑜伽不只是身体运动而已它也包含宇宙能量的吸收和各方面的哲学。这深不可测的知识让我着迷,我平常都会抽空阅读瑜伽体位法和冥想的书籍以了解更多关于瑜伽的好处。
